James C. Stevens was born July 27, 1953. He received B.A. in Chemistry from The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio, in 1975. He received a Ph. D. in Inorganic Chemistry from The Ohio State University in 1979. Synthetic and Physical Inorganic chemistry of monomeric molecular oxygen complexes was his thesis topic. In 2011, he received an Honorary Doctor of Letters from Texas A&M University. He is currently a Corporate Fellow at The Dow Chemical Company. Jim is most recognized for his contributions to the discovery and commercialization of constrained geometry catalysts for the production of olefin polymers.. |
